$60 netbook, $110 desktop continues Peel board’s commitment to equity of access to technology
The Peel District School Board continues to work with technology vendors to increase equity of access to technology for students. This week, VIG Solutions will introduce two new, affordable options available to Peel board families.
Parents can purchase low-cost technology products for student use through the board's Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) parent resource page at www.peelschools.org/BYOD.
For $110, VIG Solutions will offer an Intel Dual Core, 2GB, 160GB computer with a 17-inch LCD monitor. A 10-inch netbook with 1GB ram, 160GB hard drive, Wi-Fi capability and Windows 7, provides basic functionality for student use, will be available for $60.
Taxes and shipping will be applied to product costs, and all items come with a six-month warranty. These products can be purchased at www.refurbitstock.ca/peel (password: peelregion). The board does not benefit from the sale of the devices and will not be involved in service, warranty or product issues.
